We proudly announce that the $1000 Pilgrim Festival Chorus Scholarship will go to Diana McLaughlin, a graduating senior at Pembroke High School.

Diana is passionate about music and about pursuing a career in music education. She taught French horn to middle school students for several years, and is credited with creating a successful elementary school music tutoring program. She plays not only the French horn but the piano as well, and she sings and participates in numerous music ensembles. Diana’s talent has led to several awards in school and community competitions, including acceptance into the MA all-state Music Festival Band and membership in the Brockton Symphony Orchestra.

Our scholarship winner has been an A student throughout her high school career, and has earned outstanding honors in physics, chemistry and biology, in addition to an audio engineering master award. In recognition of her academic accomplishments, Diana was inducted into the National Honor Society and has been named a commended student in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Diana’s versatility goes beyond scholastic achievements. She is very active in her community and gives generously of her time, teaching religious education at her church, serving as a teen advisory board member at the Pembroke Public Library, and playing in the Randolph Community Band.

She will be entering Ithaca College in the fall and majoring in music education. Congratulations, Diana!
