Opus 25 – A PFC Journey – SATURDAY at THE CHURCH OF THE PILGRIMAGE

Poster - 2025 summer concert

Over the past 25 years, PFC has performed more than 500 choral works – a staggering amount to contemplate! For our annual summer concert, we’ve chosen some of the best to share with you, including selections from the Great American Songbook, contemporary masterpieces, and a medley from one of our favorite musicals. It’s a fitting way to close out our 25th season, and a perfect segue into the next stage of our journey.

Old and New – PFC Celebrates 25 Years of Singing – PLYMOUTH

PFC 2025 spring Concert

To mark our 25th season, we’ve paired the exuberant 1749 Magnificat of C. P. E. Bach (an “old” work) with Elaine Hagenberg’s sublime Illuminare, composed in 2022 and so very much a “new” work. The Bach speaks of joy and celebration. The Hagenberg explores light in the sense of beauty, goodness, and hope. Together, these pieces represent what PFC has been able to undertake: old works and new ones, with traditional texts and unexpectedly introspective ones, looking forward to a bright future even as we look back at a rich past.
